Day 1 - Sat., Aug. 10, 2019

Departure from London (and area) early morning – travel through Toronto and head north through Peterborough, Marmora, Perth,  to Ottawa for a late afternoon arrival.

Day 2 - Sun., Aug. 11, 2019

Morning guided tour of our Nation’s Capital – showing us sites of Ottawa incl. such places as Notre Dame Basilica, National Gallery of Canada, Canadian Mint, Parliament Buildings, Prime Minister’s Residence, The Bank of Canada and much more.

Upon completion of the tour, we will have free time for lunch at the famous ByWard Market, a buzzing hub of outdoor farmers’ market retail stalls and specialty food shops selling Canadian cheese and maple-infused chocolates.  It’s known for its colourful street art and ho stores filled and crafts and clothes by local designers.  – possibly indulge in a popular Beaver Tail ((sweet fried pastry in shape of a beaver tail)

Mid-afternoon departure from Ottawa along the shores of Ottawa River, glimpsing the magnificent Gatineau Hills to the North as we enter La Belle Province. Along the North Shore of the St. Lawrence River to  Chez Dany’s, a country setting full of charm and enjoy French Canadian Hospitality for a unique dinner, prior to overnighting in Trois Riviere – Canada’s oldest industrial city, known earlier for all its pulp and paper production.   (Les Suites de Laviolette – 1-800-567-4747)


Day 3 - Mon., Aug. 12, 2019

Included breakfast prior to continuing travels along the scenic route to Quebec City, Capital of Province of Quebec, situated on the St. Lawrence River.  Our tour guide will explain the history of the area, Upper & Lower Town, Plains of Abraham, La Citadel Place Royale, Government Bldgs, Fortified Walled City – only one left in northern North American and port of Quebec and points of interest in modern Quebec City.   Free time in Old Quebec for Lunch, and meander this area filled with shops and restaurants – maybe try a crepe or stroll through Hotel Frontenac, what a street musician, walk the boardwalk,  SO alive with history!

Late afternoon departure and travel south shore to Drummondville, located east of Montreal housing a multitude of manufacturing companies – described as “a little slip into yesteryear” to spend our night. (Le Dauphin Hotel & Suites – Drummondville      819-843-3308)


Day 4 - Tues., Aug. 13, 2019

Incl. Breakfast before traveling along the south shore of St. Lawrence into Montreal, Province of Quebec’s largest city, set on an Island in St. Lawrence River – named after Mount Royal, a triple-peaked hill in the heart of the city.  Once again, a Professional Tour Guide  will spend time with us to showing us both the historic and modern side – the highlights – points of interest – Olympic Stadium, McGill University The Basilica of Notre Dame  After lunch we  travel easterly into a beautiful scenic area called the Eastern Townships to overnight in the Bromont, Quebec area. Day 5 - Wed., Aug. 14, 2019

Incl. Breakfast, then THIS IS THE DAY!

This morning we board the ORFORD EXPRESS in Bromont to begin our special outing while enjoying hors de’oeuvres on board the Orford Express as we admire the landscape between Bromont and Magog.  At Magog we will climb aboard the Grand Cru Boat Cruise for the appetizer and main course while navigating over the majestic waters of Lake Mephre’.  After return to the dock at Magog, we will once again climb aboard the Orford Express for our return trip – enjoying tea, coffee or herbal tea, dessert and entertainment.   When finished  – back to our hotel   –    what a day!!


Day 6 - Thurs., Aug. 15, 2019

Incl. Breakfast – Guided local tour, with some local stops for us to experience the local culture.    Farewell to the Eastern Townships and enjoy the trip to Kingston, known as the limestone city located on the eastern end of Lake Ontario. (Ambassador, Kingston – 613-548-3605)

Day 7 - Fri., Aug. 16, 2019

Incl. Breakfast then we will meet our favourite tour guide John Quick and tour this beautiful city, see Old Fort Henry, Kingston Pen, Bellevue House, (home of the 1st prime minister of Canada, along with numerous other Kingston Highlights.

Late morning departure from this city and travel along scenic Loyalist Parkway crossing with the Glenora Ferry,  view Lake on the Mountain and stop at the BIG APPLE (where everything is apple – maybe enjoy some apple pie or apple dumpling.

Early evening arrival back to our favourite spot  –  HOME
